About the role

  • Software engineering co-op developing internal data-management tools for Kardium’s FDA-approved atrial-fibrillation medical device. Coding, testing, and integrating systems in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement internal software tools integrating data from third-party systems
  • Extend existing product data management systems using APIs and databases
  • Participate in requirements analysis before and during development and validation activities
  • Take part in the full development, testing, and release cycle in a regulated environment
  • Collaborate with a wide variety of teams to deliver high-impact features improving organizational efficiency and quality
  • Develop, code, test, and maintain software tools supporting product data management

Requirements

  • Object-oriented programming skills, preferably with Java or C#
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Experience with source repositories, preferably Git
  • Excellent communication skills
  • History of success working in a team setting
  • Desire to produce high-quality code
  • Highly proactive and able to execute tasks with minimal instruction and guidance
  • Enthusiasm for finding innovative solutions to unforeseen challenges
  • Proven ability to learn and use third-party APIs and libraries (preferred)
  • Experience with test-driven development and unit testing frameworks (preferred)
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (preferred)
  • Experience developing web apps or desktop apps (preferred)
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
