About the role
- Stormwater engineer leading watershed planning, green infrastructure design, and hydrologic modelling. Delivering innovative water resources solutions for Western Canada municipalities and clients.
Responsibilities
- Research and understand site context, develop criteria, and create watershed- and site-based integrated stormwater management plans
- Work closely with municipal and other clients on stormwater-related projects
- Manage client contacts and develop client relationships
- Plan and concept-design stormwater infrastructure including culverts, detention ponds, and storm sewers
- Focus on green infrastructure design and implementation
- Lead hydrologic/hydraulic modelling for watershed and site-level stormwater projects using PCSWMM, InfoWorks ICM, or other platforms
- Direct, train, and supervise junior staff and modellers
- Write reports and proposals
- Pursue climate adaptation, project management, innovative analyses, tools and solutions, and research initiatives
Requirements
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in British Columbia or another Canadian province
- 5 to 10 years of experience in stormwater, water resources, hydrology/hydraulics, and related fields
- Experience with SWMM-based software, InfoWorks ICM, or other modelling software and GIS environments
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
- Experience preparing methodologies, technical memoranda, reports, proposals, presentations, figures, and other technical documentation
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff
- Experience supporting multidisciplinary project delivery and client coordination
- Potential to take on Engineer of Record responsibilities would be an asset
- Willingness to travel for occasional site visits
- Keen interest in innovative and client-focused problem-solving
