About the role
- Winter highway operator maintaining Alberta roads for Ledcor’s infrastructure construction and maintenance business. Operating snowplows and heavy equipment while performing seasonal highway repairs.
Responsibilities
- Operate snowplow trucks, wheel loaders, and other heavy equipment
- Maintain Alberta Provincial Highways
- Assist with labourer duties including crack sealing, pothole repair, bridge and signage cleaning, and hazard remediation
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Perform shift work, on-call work, and night shifts as required by weather patterns
- Support winter seasonal highway maintenance from October 1st to April 30th, with potential for year-round employment
Requirements
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Valid Class 1, 2, or 3 driver’s license with air endorsement
- Clear 3-year driver’s abstract
- Previous experience operating a snowplow truck and/or wheel loader is a strong asset; training provided
- Availability for shift work, on-call work, and night shifts
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
