About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes
- Record monthly journal entries
- Record payroll and related accruals
- Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial statements
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and performance indicators
- Analyze variances between the budget, forecasts, and actual results
- Analyze margins by project and client
- Collaborate with IT resources to optimize the ERP system and financial tools
- Develop and optimize financial and operational performance-tracking tools
- Contribute to the optimization and automation of business processes
- Prepare and file tax returns
- Process tax payments and instalment payments
- Prepare documentation for external audits
- Respond to auditors’ requests
- Strengthen internal controls and accounting compliance
- Participate in the preparation of the annual budget
- Support operational teams with financial planning
- Report directly to the CFO
Requirements
- CPA designation (required)
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting or controllership experience
- Strong experience with the full accounting cycle and month-end close
- Experience in a consulting firm or professional services organization is an asset
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigor
- Team-oriented, autonomous, and proactive
