About the role

Responsibilities
- Lead two teams of 4–6 people specializing in platform engineering
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of the global cloud-based SaaS point-of-sale platform
- Improve the developer experience
- Mentor, guide, and motivate a high-performing team of multidisciplinary cloud platform engineers
- Lead people-management activities, including performance management, goal setting, and individual development plans
- Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, creativity, innovation, and high performance
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for the SRE team aligned with company objectives
- Understand business-unit roadmaps and company-wide dependencies
- Define the team’s vision and streamline and prioritize projects
- Develop and manage the team roadmap and establish execution processes
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable, and efficient infrastructure solutions for the global SaaS platform
- Lead the automation of deployment, monitoring, and operational processes
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and SRE teams across other departments
- Effectively lead cross-functional projects
- Communicate with stakeholders, provide updates, gather requirements, and address concerns
- Potentially participate in an on-call rotation
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work independently on projects spanning multiple areas of the business
- Proven track record of delivering projects through high-performing teams
- Extensive hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure providers such as AWS and GCP
- Expertise in infrastructure orchestration and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience streamlining operations and promoting automation
- Experience combining engineering and management responsibilities
- Ability to lead large teams through complex projects
- Ability to shape the strategic and technical direction of a platform engineering team
- Ability to provide strategic guidance and define the team’s long-term objectives
- Proven experience implementing process improvements beyond one’s own teams
- Experience leading medium- to large-sized teams of platform engineers
- Potential availability to participate in an on-call rotation
