Qualified Utility Arborist performing utility vegetation management, line clearance, pruning, and removals for Lucas Tree Experts. Operating forestry equipment while supporting public safety and utility reliability.
Responsibilities
Perform manual removal of vegetation from work areas
Safely operate forestry equipment, including aerial lifts, elevator lifts, woodchippers with winches, giraffes, hydraulic equipment, and chainsaws
Perform line clearance, pruning, and removals
Contribute to public safety and utility reliability through sustainable vegetation management
Participate in paid hands-on training and educational courses for industry advancement
Requirements
Qualified Utility Arborist holding either Utility Tree Trimmer of Alberta (UTT) or Certified Utility Arborist of British Columbia (CUA) certification
Current Class 3 license with air brake
Verification of experience through certifications, documentation, log books, and observation/verifications with qualified personnel
Must be able to work 45 hours weekly
Must be 18 years of age
High School Diploma/GED/or equivalent
Physically able to walk on uneven ground and carry 75 lbs
Willing to work at varying heights up to 75 feet
Willing and able to learn how to run a bucket truck and operate equipment safely
Able to obtain and maintain First Aid and WHMIS certifications
Able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications as required
Successful completion of a post-offer physical and drug screen
Successful completion of a criminal background check and motor vehicle abstract
