About the role
- Software Development Manager leading 5–6 developers at MaintainX, a mobile-first industrial work execution platform. Delivering reliable reporting, identity, access, or search products.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 5–6 developers and be accountable for their delivery, quality, and day-to-day priorities.
- Collaborate with product managers and designers to define scope, plan, and deliver reliable software.
- Coach and develop developers, solve complex problems, and support their career growth.
- Conduct interviews and raise the talent bar.
- Set clear expectations and provide ongoing feedback.
- Promote CI/CD practices, code quality, and observability.
- Provide senior leadership with visibility into the team’s impact, progress, and risks.
- Lead product or platform teams in Reporting, Identity & Access Management, or Search.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of people leadership experience, with a track record of teams delivering results.
- Strong technical foundation in system design, computer science fundamentals, and modern web technologies.
- Experience in technical design, problem-solving, and project management.
- Experience with Jira preferred.
- Genuine interest in recruiting, coaching, and developing engineers.
- Comfortable collaborating with the recruiting team and other managers to hire and grow the organization.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss trade-offs with engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
