About the role

  • Insurance onboarding specialist managing advisor contracting, licensing, and transitions for Manulife, a global financial services provider. Coordinating carriers, compliance, systems, and advisor activation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding of new advisors joining the MGA
  • Review and process advisor contracting packages for completeness and accuracy
  • Facilitate advisor setup through WealthServ, internal systems, and carrier platforms
  • Partner with Compliance, Technology, and Operations teams to activate advisor profiles and access
  • Manage advisor transfers, branch transfers, and book-of-business transitions
  • Coordinate carrier appointments, code transfers, and advisor maintenance updates
  • Track transition activities and communicate status updates to stakeholders
  • Obtain and process required documentation within service standards
  • Validate advisor licensing requirements and regulatory documentation
  • Monitor licensing expiries and deficiencies and support remediation
  • Ensure activities comply with regulatory, carrier, and internal standards
  • Liaise with insurance carriers regarding contracting, code requests, and maintenance
  • Escalate and resolve onboarding and transfer-related issues
  • Serve as subject matter expert for carrier onboarding requirements and processes
  • Support advisors during onboarding and transition periods
  • Provide guidance on requirements, timelines, and system access
  • Deliver a professional, responsive, and advisor-centric experience

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in insurance operations, advisor onboarding, contracting, licensing, or transfers
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field
  • Knowledge of MGA operations, advisor contracting processes, and insurance carriers
  • Experience with WealthServ or similar advisor management systems is considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of licensing and compliance requirements within the insurance industry
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset; if the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec
