About the role

  • IT Sourcing Manager leading software procurement, negotiations, and contracts for Manulife, an international financial services provider. Improving technology sourcing through analytics, governance, and AI-enabled procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT and software sourcing and contracting initiatives from intake and strategy through negotiations, award, and contract execution
  • Lead cross-functional teams on low-to-medium value and complexity IT/software sourcing and contracting projects
  • Plan and execute renewals and amendments, track expirations, and develop renewal workplans
  • Develop PxQ baselines and contract analyses
  • Determine sourcing strategies and lead negotiations and supplier selection recommendations
  • Shape business requirements for supplier evaluation and timely decisions
  • Negotiate commercial terms and coordinate with Legal, Risk, and Finance subject-matter experts
  • Progress initiatives through Ivalua intake-to-contract workflows
  • Maintain deal documentation and procurement/CLM workflow progression, including Sirion contract review and redlining where applicable
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, surface blockers, and align tradeoffs and approvals
  • Support governance inputs for technology purchases, including architectural reviews and ARB thresholds
  • Conduct benchmarking and opportunity assessments
  • Provide business intelligence and insights for sourcing decisions and portfolio prioritization
  • Define and track performance metrics and develop dashboards/reporting views
  • Create executive-ready presentations on deal status, risks, tradeoffs, and improvement opportunities
  • Contribute to AI-enabled procurement improvements, pilots, requirements, and adoption

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive experience in IT/software sourcing, procurement, vendor management, and/or consulting with direct responsibility for negotiations and contracting
  • Ability to lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives and influence stakeholders without direct authority
  • Strong commercial and analytical skills, including baseline and market analysis and negotiation strategy development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to produce executive-ready materials
  • Working knowledge of procurement tools and intake-to-contract and contract lifecycle processes
  • Advanced MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Familiarity with Power BI or similar analytics tools is an asset
  • Prior experience in sourcing, strategy/management, consulting, or equivalent internal consulting/PMO experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting AI-related procurement work is preferred
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions is an asset
  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience is preferred
