About the role

  • Senior Cybersecurity Architect designing Zero Trust, IAM, SIEM, and cloud security solutions for Manulife’s financial services business. Supporting enterprise architecture, incident response, and security strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Support projects applying new and existing technologies and solutions to solve cyber security business needs for the US business segment
  • Work with architects, engineers, technical SMEs, operational support staff, IT, and other business units to provide and maintain solutions meeting business and technical requirements
  • Assist in developing technology roadmaps and documentation
  • Act as a subject matter expert in IAM, SIEM integration, incident-response automation, and other cybersecurity domains
  • Develop security strategies and implementation roadmaps centered on Zero Trust
  • Design security architecture for Security Operations and cloud/on-premises SIEM integration
  • Develop and support security solutions in GRC, SOC, SIEM, and IAM
  • Analyze modern and legacy integrations and business information models to ensure integrity and security
  • Develop enterprise security controls and methods to mitigate security risks
  • Lead and participate in conceptual, solution, and component-level architectures and related artifacts
  • Evaluate third-party suppliers, products, and solutions from a security perspective
  • Review and advise on architectures produced within and outside the team
  • Develop security reference architectures and implementation patterns
  • Participate in internal investigations and incident response events
  • Influence security vendors to resolve issues and update roadmaps
  • Partner with IT, enterprise security, and services architects to design and maintain secure solutions
  • Research vulnerabilities, security alerts, and threat intelligence
  • Research new security technologies and solutions to support the overall security strategy
  • Build relationships with customers’ technical staff and internal IT, customer service, and field operations stakeholders
  • Promote information security best practices
  • Participate in after-hours support for security incidents as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity
  • Provide hands-on configuration and support for assigned projects and services

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience related to cyber security
  • Experience and knowledge of security functions, including AuthN, AuthZ, Transport Security, Secure Configuration, data validation/sanitization, and security exceptions logging
  • Knowledge of Vault capabilities and Security Incident and Event Management systems
  • Experience with threat modeling and secure testing methodologies
  • Experience with Cloud Native (12-Factor) Architecture and Infrastructure Patterns
  • Proficiency across Microsoft, Apple, and Linux operating systems
  • Fundamental understanding of network protocols and network security concepts
  • Familiarity with SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS environments and best practices for securing them
  • Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Familiarity with incident response tools and digital forensics concepts preferred
  • Knowledge of industry frameworks such as NIST
  • Ability to utilize application, scripting, and operating system commands to configure, debug, and monitor large-scale production systems
  • Knowledge of modern software development lifecycles, including Agile and iterative development
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interact with technical, non-technical, and business members of the organization
  • Ability to accurately interpret business direction and clarify technology's alignment with stakeholder needs
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Master’s Degree a plus
  • CISSP or other security certifications a plus
