About the role

  • Senior Manager shaping internal and external communications for Manulife’s Canadian Retirement & Wealth business. Connecting employees, media, advisors, and global teams through integrated communications strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Build, connect, and drive the communications strategy supporting the objectives, visibility, and goals of Manulife Wealth and Asset Management’s Retirement & Wealth, Canada business
  • Develop communications strategies articulating strategic objectives internally and externally
  • Support reputation with media, advisors, and other audiences
  • Drive comprehensive internal and external communications support to engage and inform employees and the press
  • Develop and implement integrated communications plans and measure their effectiveness
  • Build strategic partnerships with segment and global business partners
  • Connect colleagues to the global mission, strategy, products, services, and culture
  • Collaborate with segment and global communications colleagues on consistent messaging, positioning, and language
  • Oversee internal communication channels, including intranet, executive messages, newsletters, and town halls
  • Monitor and adjust communications strategies to improve engagement and understanding

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, English, journalism or related field
  • 6-8+ years of experience in internal and external communications
  • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities within reasonable timelines
  • Proven track record of strong execution
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Innovative, creative, proactive self-starter with a keen sense of urgency and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a globally integrated and aligned team of communicators
