Complex Repair Operator responsible for performing electronic assembly and repairs at Renaissance in Kanata, Ontario. Working with PCB inspection, soldering, and BGA component rework.
Responsibilities
Visually inspect PCB’s for physical and/or other damage
Perform soldering and desoldering of through-hole and surface mount components to IPC610 standards
Perform removal, replacement, and reflow of BGA components using specified equipment
Visually analyze x-ray to determine circuit shorts or insufficient solder
Perform rework activities at class 1, 2 and 3 levels
Perform bench testing, as required
Document all work performed using system tools
Read and interpret PRHC to understand repair requirements
Read and interpret engineer change notices to complete required tasks
Work with Debug and Engineering team on complex repairs without documentation
Provide input on tooling and equipment requirements
Understand and meet or exceed daily output requirements
Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices
Perform other job-related duties, as required
Requirements
Electronic Technician/Technologist Diploma an asset
Equivalent years of relevant work experience within electronic assembly
Previous experience on BGA replacement required
Previous experience on DRS24, 25 or similar BGA replacement equipment
Previous soldering experience on surface mount and through hole applications to IPC standards
Able to assemble and disassemble mechanical assemblies
Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
Strong attention to detail is essential
Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
Ability to document clearly & concisely is essential
Ability to interpret schematic drawings and production documents
Ability to prioritize and complete work in a timely fashion
Ability to listen and communicate with peers at all levels within the organization
