About the role

  • Payroll and benefits specialist processing payroll and administering benefits for MHI Canada Aerospace’s 750 employees. Maintaining HRIS data, supporting audits, and answering employee inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for approximately 750 hourly and salaried employees
  • Administer payroll-related employee changes and maintain data integrity in SAP SuccessFactors
  • Process terminations, unpaid leave, title changes, compensation changes, employee profile updates, and manager changes
  • Administer employee timecards and absence data in UKG Dimensions
  • Administer the employee health benefits plan, including new-hire enrollment, employee changes, terminations, and life-event updates
  • Support STD and LTD benefits claims and Group RRSP programs
  • Support year-end payroll activities and payroll audits
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with clear and accurate information
  • Serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and liaise with benefits providers
  • Administer employee access to SuccessFactors, UKG Pro, and UKG Dimensions
  • Support account registrations and password reset requests through the shared services provider
  • Partner with Finance to provide payroll and benefits-related reports
  • Adhere to payroll timelines and maintain data integrity
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information
  • Participate in ad hoc Payroll & Benefits-related projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Current work authorization for Canada is required
  • Criminal background check required for candidates aged 18 and over
  • 3+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards
  • Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors or similar HRIS
  • Working knowledge of UKG time and attendance is an asset
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel and Word skills, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
  • Experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment is an asset
  • College diploma or undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Payroll, or Business Administration
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certificate, or working towards it, is an asset
  • Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, UKG Pro, and/or UKG Dimensions is an asset
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets accurately
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional partners
  • Ability to handle sensitive information professionally and tactfully
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to learn new tasks
