About the role

  • Head of People shaping global HR strategy and operations for MineSense, a Canadian mining technology company. Leading culture, talent, compliance, and employee experience across worldwide teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve the enterprise People strategy roadmap and operating priorities in alignment with the company’s business strategy
  • Advise executive and senior leaders on global workforce initiatives, leadership, culture, and employee matters
  • Lead strategic workforce and organization planning globally, including capability needs, succession risks, and organization design
  • Translate enterprise priorities into clear People goals and accountabilities
  • Provide the people perspective on major business decisions by identifying organizational opportunities and risks
  • Build alignment across leaders and functions, resolve cross-functional roadblocks, and advocate for resources
  • Manage departmental budgets and optimize people practices
  • Maintain knowledge of human resources practices, innovations, and emerging workplace trends
  • Shape and steward MineSense’s culture and leadership behaviours
  • Oversee global talent practices including workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, performance, development, succession, retention, and offboarding
  • Lead leadership effectiveness, manager capability, employee listening, and organizational development initiatives
  • Ensure compensation, benefits, recognition, and promotion practices support internal equity, market competitiveness, performance, and sustainability
  • Champion an inclusive, high-performing workplace
  • Lead organizational development and change initiatives through governance, stakeholder engagement, and adoption measures
  • Ensure reliable, scalable, employee-centered People Operations across policies, systems, data, benefits interfaces, records, and employee support
  • Establish governance, service standards, and decision rights for People processes and programs
  • Oversee employee relations, workplace investigations, accommodations, leaves, performance matters, and terminations
  • Maintain compliance with employment, labour, human rights, privacy, health and safety, and pay transparency requirements
  • Use workforce data and people analytics to identify trends, support decisions, and monitor organizational health
  • Lead continuous improvement and automation to strengthen quality, consistency, controls, and employee experience
  • Lead, coach, and develop the People team
  • Build the function’s global impact and operating models across all locations
  • Foster accountability, constructive challenge, collaboration, learning, and sound judgment
  • Manage vendor relationships and external partnerships
  • Ensure continuity, knowledge sharing, and succession within the People function
  • Perform additional duties as occasionally required by the manager

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Generally, 10-12+ years of progressive People or Human Resources experience, including 6-8+ years of people leadership with direct partnership with executives
  • Demonstrated breadth across people strategy, HR business partnering, talent management, organizational development, total rewards, employee relations, and people operations
  • Strong knowledge of employment standards, human rights, privacy, and related workplace obligations
  • Ability to build credible relationships, influence senior stakeholders, and balance employee experience, risk, fairness, and business outcomes
  • Ability to communicate in English; knowledge of Spanish is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including communicating complex or sensitive matters with clarity, discretion, empathy, and appropriate candour
  • Self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively, champion improvement opportunities, make deliberate trade-offs, and lead through unfamiliar, high-impact challenges
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and HR technology
  • Experience with Bamboo HRIS, applicant tracking, performance management, and employee engagement platforms is an asset
  • Health and safety-conscious individual
  • Legally able to work in Canada
