About the role
- Ingénieur minier sénior réalisant études, conception et optimisation de projets miniers pour Norda Stelo. Soutien technique aux sites et leadership d’équipes multidisciplinaires.
Responsibilities
- Participate in economic, pre-feasibility, feasibility, and optimization studies for underground and open-pit mining projects
- Contribute to the design, planning, and optimization of mining infrastructure and operations
- Ensure compliance with health and safety and environmental standards, as well as production targets
- Act as a technical expert, project manager, or supervisor of multidisciplinary teams, depending on the project
- Provide technical support to operating mine sites to improve operational performance
- Develop mine development and production plans
- Create mining models, mine sequences, and operating scenarios
- Determine the safest and most cost-effective mining methods
- Conduct optimization analyses and make technical recommendations
- Design underground and open-pit mining structures and infrastructure
- Produce and validate technical plans and drawings using specialized software
- Design ventilation, pumping, ground support, power, and other mining infrastructure systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Conduct technical and comparative studies
- Prepare operating expenditure (OPEX) and capital expenditure (CAPEX) estimates
- Participate in financial analyses
- Write technical reports, including sections of NI 43-101 reports
- Present results and follow up with clients
- Conduct site visits to validate field conditions and project requirements
- Participate in the technical monitoring of projects and team meetings
- Contribute to the improvement of procedures and work methods
- Support engineers, technicians, and interns
- Participate in knowledge transfer and contribute to the development of team skills
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering
- Member of the Order of Engineers
- Membership in the engineering regulatory body of another Canadian province is an asset
- More than 15 years of experience in mining engineering
- Experience in project management and mining studies
- Experience in underground and/or open-pit mining is an asset
- Technical leadership and autonomy
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Thoroughness, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Team-oriented and results-driven
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and support a technical team
- Proficiency with specialized software such as Deswik, AutoCAD, Datamine, Vulcan, MineSite, RocScience, Ventsim, or equivalent tools
- Good command of Microsoft Office
