Senior Process Engineer delivering mineral-processing design and improvements for Sedgman’s global resources business. Supporting mining projects from feasibility through detailed engineering in Montreal’s hybrid office.
Responsibilities
Attend to the technical aspects of requests for quotations and technical literature
Provide process design support through PEA, PFS, FS, conceptual design, front-end engineering, and detailed design phases
Play a key role in client discussions and negotiations
Develop, improve, and promote effective use of operations systems including JDE, SPRS, Synergy, Aconex, SMS, and Dochub
Provide feedback to Sedgman design and engineering personnel to support continual improvement
Troubleshoot and resolve process issues
Stay up to date with advancements in mining processing technology and recommend new equipment or processes
Provide direction to ensure Sedgman operational targets and production are achieved safely, practically, and efficiently
Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering (Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Disciplines)
Must have 12-15+ years of relevant process engineering design experience in the mining industry
Will have their OIQ Engineering designation
Demonstrated experience providing process engineering design solutions in an engineering / consulting firm
Strong knowledge of metallurgical / mining process engineering, equipment, and technologies in the mining industry
Chemical and mineral processing experience is mandatory
Good communication skills with well-developed written and oral skills
Proven ability to lead and work as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Must be eligible to work in Canada without sponsorship
Excellent spoken and written French
Strong spoken English skills are required due to daily contact with clients, suppliers, partners, and colleagues based outside Quebec
