About the role

  • Corporate Finance Manager leading corporate accounting, payroll, payments, and reporting for Nutrition International, a global nutrition organization. Supervising finance staff and supporting audits in Ottawa’s hybrid headquarters role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day corporate accounting function at Nutrition International’s headquarters, including accounts payable, payroll and benefits administration, and month-end activities
  • Provide technical and analytical support to the Corporate Accounting Unit
  • Coordinate daily with the AP team to receive invoices and payment authorizations, process accounts payable in Oracle NetSuite, and process payments through banking institutions
  • Back up the Senior Payroll & Benefits Officer for bi-weekly payroll preparation and reconciliation
  • Support accurate and timely financial reporting by reviewing and approving journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses
  • Coordinate preparation of audit working papers for the consolidated external audit
  • Manage payment issue escalations and review payment files at the bank weekly
  • Supervise and support Senior Finance Officers and Finance Officers
  • Report to the Senior Finance Manager, Corporate Accounting

Requirements

  • University degree in accounting, finance, or business
  • Completion of a recognized Canadian accounting designation: CPA, CA, CGA, or CMA
  • Minimum five years of accounting experience
  • Minimum three years in a financial management role
  • Strong people leadership skills
  • Good judgment in analyzing data and information and adapting procedures to new or unusual situations
  • Ability to identify process improvements and workflow efficiencies while maintaining robust oversight and internal controls
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite considered an asset
  • Knowledge of international banking practices considered an asset
  • Fluency in English is mandatory
  • Proficiency in French considered an asset
  • Current legal entitlement to work in Canada
