About the role

  • People Experience Specialist coordinating recruitment, onboarding, employee relations and lifecycle programs at Nutrition International, a global nutrition nonprofit. Supporting managers and employees while strengthening workplace culture and HR service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end recruitment process, including hiring-needs clarification, intake meetings, job posting, candidate sourcing and screening, reference checks, interview coordination, offer management, and candidate-experience delivery
  • Lead employee onboarding and orientation for successful new-hire integration
  • Partner with managers on new-hire preparation, onboarding and assimilation, including structured probationary check-ins
  • Coordinate employee lifecycle transactions such as promotions, transfers, leaves of absence and employment changes
  • Monitor employee feedback and lifecycle insights, surface trends, and recommend targeted improvements
  • Collaborate with the People Operations Generalist to align lifecycle activities with policies and systems
  • Serve as the primary People & Culture contact for managers and employees on performance management, attendance, conflicts, conduct, accommodations and other HR matters
  • Manage low-to-medium-risk employee relations cases end-to-end, including intake, fact-finding, documentation, recommendations, resolutions, follow-through and closure
  • Contribute to recognition, wellness, workplace culture, engagement survey and employer-brand programs
  • Coordinate performance management, engagement initiatives, action planning, wellbeing activities, culture initiatives, staff awards and cyclical People & Culture programs
  • Develop and coordinate timely, consistent, employee-focused communications for People & Culture programs and initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related field
  • Around 5 to 8 years of progressive HR generalist experience
  • Strong emphasis on employee relations and manager coaching
  • Hands-on recruitment experience across the full hiring lifecycle, from intake to offer
  • Excellent HR service delivery experience
  • Solid working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance
  • Strong execution and follow-through
  • Experience in a multi-regional HR environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build relationships with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build trust, influence without authority and navigate sensitive conversations
  • Sound judgment to balance organizational standards with individual circumstances
  • Ability to escalate complex or high-risk matters appropriately
  • Fluency in reading and writing English
  • Current legal entitlement to work in Canada
  • Successful screening and satisfactory reference checks, including safeguarding verifications
