About the role

  • Data Engineering Developer building scalable Azure data pipelines for an agile tech development firm. Advising clients, implementing governance, and improving cloud data engineering standards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines within the Microsoft ecosystem, including Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory, and Azure Functions
  • Work directly with clients to understand needs, propose technical solutions, and ensure smooth project follow-ups
  • Document technical and functional architectures, transformations, and processes
  • Help establish engineering standards for code quality, data quality, CI/CD, security, and performance
  • Collaborate with engineers to deliver stable, optimized, and scalable data solutions
  • Provide technical guidance and share data engineering and architecture best practices
  • Implement data extraction processes through APIs to integrate external data
  • Oversee deployments, operational costs, and solution performance in cloud environments
  • Design and implement data governance and quality strategies, including metadata management, security, privacy, and cataloging
  • Stay current with cloud platforms, modern analytical architectures, and data governance trends

Requirements

  • Over 5 years of experience in a similar role; experience in consulting or multi-client environments is an asset
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with Spark and modern analytical architectures (ELT, medallion, star schema)
  • Experience within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem (Functions, Storage, Fabric, Synapse, Data Factory)
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English
  • Rigour, curiosity, and attention to detail
  • Strong results orientation and a developed sense of client service
  • Experience with platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, or dbt is an asset
  • Microsoft certifications (Azure, Fabric, Power BI) are an asset
