About the role

  • Director of Self-Serve owning growth and economics for Paddle’s self-serve payment infrastructure business. Scaling acquisition, activation, conversion, partnerships, and profitable revenue.

Responsibilities

  • Own the commercial performance of Paddle’s self-serve business line from acquisition through adoption, revenue, and net retention
  • Set the self-serve commercial strategy and align Finance and Product around an executable plan
  • Own activation, onboarding, lifecycle nurturing, in-product experience, and time-to-value
  • Run structured discovery and experimentation to improve the self-serve experience
  • Define the customer profile and collaborate with Demand Generation on targeting and a shared ICP
  • Orchestrate cross-functional workstreams and influence Product, Engineering, and Risk roadmaps
  • Establish a regular business cadence focused on priorities and impact
  • Develop partner integrations and own partner-sourced commercial outcomes
  • Design and operate experimentation, tooling, and tracking for funnel codification, activation, conversion, and time-to-value
  • Apply AI where it improves velocity and quality
  • Shape the team as the self-serve motion scales
  • Own self-serve pricing and packaging with Finance to ensure profitable growth

Requirements

  • Deep experience in a PLG or self-serve motion in a high-growth tech business
  • Experience building and owning a self-serve funnel rather than a sales-assisted or enterprise motion
  • Accountability for a revenue number
  • Experience owning a revenue line, channel, or segment
  • Strong understanding of unit economics
  • Product management approach to prioritization and experimentation
  • Ability to turn data analysis into clear commercial decisions
  • Strong critical thinking and assumption-challenging ability
  • Experience leading complex, cross-functional programmes
  • Ability to influence Product, Engineering, and Risk roadmaps
  • Credibility with senior stakeholders up to executive level
  • Ability to operate strategically and in detail
  • Pragmatic use of AI, including dynamic onboarding, predictive scoring, and real-time segmentation
