About the role

  • Care and Service Manager leading clinical supervisors and frontline staff for ParaMed, Canada’s home healthcare provider. Overseeing care delivery, safety, compliance, and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical supervisors and frontline staff in delivering patient care
  • Coach and mentor clinical supervisors on care delivery and support for frontline teams, patients, and families
  • Monitor care and service delivery performance and clinical indicators
  • Participate in interviewing, orientation, supervision, and performance management of clinical supervisors
  • Ensure completion of mandatory training and skills development
  • Create and maintain the clinical supervisors’ on-call schedule
  • Respond to clinical concerns from staff, contractors, funders, clients, and families
  • Review client safety incidents and participate in investigation and resolution
  • Provide clinical leadership at the district level
  • Oversee continuous quality improvement activities related to care and service
  • Ensure compliance with ParaMed policies, procedures, and legal requirements
  • Participate in care conferences with healthcare teams, contractors, and funders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, government agencies, healthcare workers, and community resources
  • Demonstrate continuous learning and professional development through conferences, committees, and networks
  • Respect cultural needs, dignity, privacy, and confidentiality of staff and clients

Requirements

  • Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse with provincial regulatory college
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a formal nursing leadership role required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a practicing Registered Nurse, in a community setting
  • Working knowledge of applicable health care legislation including Mental Health Act, Substitute Decisions Act, Healthcare Consent Act, Privacy / Personal Health Information Act and others
  • Knowledge of standards of care for palliative, wound, IV therapy and other specialties
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility in hours worked to accommodate operational needs
  • Knowledge of applicable community resources
  • Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR, completed within Canada
  • Excellent computer skills including Word and Excel
  • Current, clear criminal background check with Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
  • BScN preferred
  • Certification in Community Health Nursing with CNA certification preferred
  • Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) preferred
