About the role

  • Finance director leading accounting, payroll, treasury, and financial reporting at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Providing strategic oversight for a major regional hospital’s finance portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for finance in collaboration with the Director of Finance and Reporting.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, capital assets, and treasury functions.
  • Oversee preparation of the financial statements.
  • Enhance systems of internal control.
  • Effectively manage staff.
  • Provide operational accountability, creative leadership, and oversight across the finance portfolio.
  • Continually evaluate best industry practices against internal systems and services.
  • Consider future organizational needs and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or a related clinical discipline.
  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in complex health systems, with direct oversight of budgeting and financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, capital projects, and technology implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting guidelines, accreditation standards and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and foster continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience in Clinical Informatics, professional practice and/or project management.
  • Demonstrated use of theory and research/evidence-based outcomes in practice.
  • Strategically focused and an innovator with a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage change effectively, creating a positive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve goals and objectives within specified time frames.
  • Well-developed problem solving, decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-directed and the ability to adapt to continually changing priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and budgeting skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
