About the role
- Blockchain Engineer building secure blockchain applications for Prometheum’s SEC-registered digital-asset market infrastructure. Owning features from design through release across custody, signing, orchestration, and key management.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain secure and optimized blockchain applications
- Own epics end to end, from story writing and pointing through delivery and release
- Break agreed epics into work that the team can execute
- Build across many different languages while solving large, complex problems
- Report epic progress regularly and accurately
- Raise risks before they become surprises
- Partner with senior engineers on technical design, architecture decisions, and future epics
- Use AI coding tools as a default part of the workflow and rigorously review their output
- Review teammates' code for design concerns, edge cases, and test gaps
- Work directly with neighboring systems throughout delivery
- Investigate and resolve issues found in QA, UAT, and production
- Communicate frequently to encourage fast feedback loops and remove blockers
- Work with the Architect on technical design, with guidance from senior engineers
- Serve specialist teams dependent on custody contracts, transaction signing and orchestration, and key management
Requirements
- 3 or more years of professional software engineering experience building and shipping production software
- Strong blockchain fundamental knowledge, including in-depth knowledge of top chains such as Bitcoin and Ethereum
- Familiarity with basic cryptography commonly utilized by blockchains
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including prioritization, time management, and meeting deadlines on multiple projects
- Automated testing as a habit
- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants and judgment to evaluate their output
- Clear written communication and strong command of the English language
- Ability to reason through technical disagreements with evidence and update views when evidence shifts
- Authorized to work in the U.S. or Canada
- Able to pass a comprehensive background check
- Experience mentoring or onboarding other engineers is nice to have
- Background in finance, brokerage, trading, or custody is nice to have
- Exposure to regulated environments and required audit trails is nice to have
- Experience with Jira, Confluence, or similar is nice to have
