Responsibilities
Serve as Ratehub’s primary subject matter expert for mortgages and real estate
Represent the brand in media opportunities and support Communications with expert commentary, data points, and timely insights
Participate in video content and media interviews with on-camera and on-mic presence
Produce and write accurate, timely original content across media contributions, landing pages, blog posts, newsletters, videos, and social media
Develop market-relevant analysis reflecting rate movements, current conditions, and consumer needs
Liaise with the mortgage brokerage team to translate rate trends, lender strategy, and market shifts into content updates
Maintain and refresh blogs, FAQs, landing pages, and other existing content
Apply SEO and GEO best practices, especially to landing pages and high-traffic pages
Set, document, and uphold Ratehub’s editorial voice and style standards
Establish editorial policies, workflows, and governance frameworks
Own the editorial and social media calendar
Review, edit, and approve work from writers, freelancers, and subject matter experts
Maintain deep editorial oversight across Canadian personal finance topics
Own content QA, including fact-checking, link auditing, structural reviews, and scheduled refreshes
Use organic traffic, keyword rankings, GEO metrics, engagement, and conversion data to set priorities and identify content gaps
Brief, onboard, and manage freelance contributors
Collaborate with product, design, marketing, and data teams to ensure content reflects live product and rate information
Lead sponsored content production and coordinate between partnership and content teams
Requirements
6–10 years of editorial experience
Demonstrated expertise in personal finance content; mortgage or real estate focus strongly preferred
Experience in a digital-first media environment, fintech, financial services, or high-volume content operation
Post-secondary education in journalism, communications, English, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills for complex financial topics
Familiarity with Canadian mortgage products, rate structures, lending regulations, and real estate
Ability to manage high-volume content across articles, landing pages, newsletters, social media, and video scripts
Strong command of Canadian AP or CP style and experience maintaining in-house style guides
Working knowledge of SEO, including keyword research, on-page optimization, internal linking, and content structuring
Familiarity with GEO and AI-powered search
Ability to use Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Semrush, PEEC, or similar platforms
Ability to interpret content performance data and turn it into editorial priorities
Experience mentoring content writers or strategists
Experience briefing and managing freelance contributors
Ability to work cross-functionally with marketing, product, and analytics teams
Strong project management ability across competing deadlines and stakeholders
Experience as a brand spokesperson or subject matter expert in media contexts
CMS proficiency, such as WordPress
Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana or Notion
Experience with AI writing and editing tools and responsible editorial use
