About the role

  • HR analytics analyst supporting OMERS pensions, benefits reporting, and workforce insights at Peel Region. Improving HCM data quality and employee services for Ontario’s public-sector community.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and analytics supporting pension, benefits, and workforce decision-making
  • Analyze workforce data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to HR and business leaders
  • Handle ad hoc reporting requests by collecting, validating, and interpreting complex employee data
  • Review and validate pension-impacting transactions with Pension and Employee Central Benefits teams
  • Support OMERS pension participation and enrollment administration and reporting
  • Coordinate preparation, validation, and submission of monthly and annual OMERS remittance and compliance reporting
  • Meet reporting deadlines and maintain data integrity
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve reporting discrepancies and support audits
  • Conduct gap analyses and identify process improvements for the Employee Service Centre and benefits administration
  • Gather business requirements and support process enhancements, procedures, protocols, and training materials
  • Participate in system upgrades and enhancement initiatives
  • Lead user acceptance testing for system enhancements, reports, dashboards, and process changes
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot complex HCM queries and reporting solutions
  • Perform testing, validation, auditing, and quality assurance activities
  • Create job aids, training materials, communications, documentation, and educational resources for pension and benefits processes
  • Attend OMERS information sessions and workshops
  • Build relationships with HR teams, business leaders, and subject matter experts
  • Translate complex data and technical information into clear recommendations for diverse audiences

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience analyzing employee transactional data within a Human Resources environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, PeopleSoft HR Applications, ServiceNow, OMERS reporting processes, or comparable HCM platforms
  • Experience working within a unionized environment and understanding collective agreement provisions is considered an asset
  • Advanced experience developing and maintaining queries and reports using tools such as PeopleSoft Query, SQL, or similar reporting technologies
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including Power Query, Power BI, HCM systems, and pension-related reporting tools
  • Experience managing large, complex HR datasets with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights, reports, and visualizations
  • Strong organizational, planning, project coordination, and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a collaborative approach to teamwork
