About the role
- Software QA Co-op testing building automation hardware and software at Reliable Controls. Executing test plans, troubleshooting issues, and verifying requirements for greener buildings.
Responsibilities
- Execute test plans for hardware and software products
- Record test results and issues using testing and bug-tracking software
- Troubleshoot to verify and diagnose the cause of issues
- Verify functional requirements
- Verify resolved bugs
- Work alongside the Software QA department to ensure quality is built into software products from the start
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary co-op program
- Computer Science, Software, or Computer Engineering degree, or currently working towards one
- Testing experience with embedded products and software
- Familiarity with test management and documentation systems (TMS)
- Hands-on experience with electrical devices and measurement instruments
- Familiarity with serial and Ethernet communication protocols
- Excellent general computer and IT skills
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in devices that control the physical environment and willingness to learn the products and industry
