Responsibilities
Own backend features in Go, Python, and Rust from design through production rollout
Evolve the declarative, schema-validated configuration system
Manage vehicle-side feature lifecycles with idempotency and reliable state delivery to intermittently connected devices
Lead high-scale analytical store migrations, including schema design, ingestion, dual-writes, and cutover sequencing
Build and maintain intelligent routing across low-latency key-value stores, aggregation layers, and lakehouse archives
Architect fleet-scale stateful streaming consumers for enrichment and anomaly detection
Implement meaningful metrics, logging, and distributed tracing
Participate in on-call rotations, debug incidents, and drive preventative follow-up work
Strengthen test coverage for cross-system logic errors and integration defects
Negotiate interface contracts with ingestion, firmware, and authentication teams
Support internal stakeholders and use their feedback to improve the platform
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Two or more years building and operating backend services in production
Strong proficiency in a statically typed, compiled backend language
Experience with Go, Python, Java, Rust, C++, C#, or Kotlin
Working knowledge of at least one database, including indexing, query planning, connection pooling, and query performance
Experience designing and consuming HTTP or REST APIs
Understanding of API versioning, backward compatibility, idempotency, and error semantics
Experience with Git, containerized local development, CI pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code
Clear technical writing
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Preferred: production experience with Go and gRPC, high-cardinality time-series data modeling, real-time/columnar OLAP stores, distributed stream processing, lakehouse architectures, IoT fleets, AWS/Kubernetes, and observability
