About the role

  • Director of Client Services growing tax-firm business through prospect development, consultative selling, and client expansion. Supporting Principals across service lines and traveling 50%+.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate the Firm’s vision and capabilities to the marketplace
  • Engage clients and prospects consultatively to provide customized solutions for the total tax function
  • Expand and cross-sell within client relationships
  • Research, initiate, and develop new business relationships by targeting qualifying prospects for all Firm service lines
  • Identify, research, and pursue prospects to generate new business
  • Make cold calls and maintain contact with prospects and clients through telephone, e-mail, and mail
  • Meet with prospects regarding potential engagements
  • Build and maintain key relationships with significant Firm prospects
  • Maintain entries in the Firm’s Prospect Register and/or Microsoft® CRM
  • Pursue tax/geography/industry-specific issues with prospects based on information from Firm Principals and Practice Leaders
  • Coordinate sales efforts with Firm Principals and Practice Leaders for joint-selling activities
  • Attend local and national tax conferences to generate qualified prospect leads
  • Develop responses to requests for proposals
  • Support Principals in deal negotiations, contract development, and due diligence
  • Discuss service-line offerings with prospects
  • Maintain understanding of active alliance partners’ products and service lines to sell partner services when appropriate
  • Use Internet tools, including OneSource, to research opportunities
  • Stay current on tax issues that may create sales opportunities
  • Generate documentation to assist in deal closing, including presentations and engagement letters
  • Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned
  • Carry out limited supervisory responsibilities, including training, in accordance with Firm policies and applicable laws
  • Regularly interact with employees and clients in person and via e-mail and telephone
  • Travel independently 50%+

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or equivalent with six to eight years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Basic skills in Microsoft® Excel and Access
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft® Outlook
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft® Word, CRM, and Internet navigation and research
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 14 kg
  • Independent travel requirement: 50%+
