Entry-level Rock Tools Technician supporting inventory, repairs, deliveries, and tool performance for Sandvik Mining. Based in Nunavut, with candidates from several Canadian regions encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Manage rock tools inventory and track new issues, discards, and losses
Repair and maintain rock tools to defined specifications
Deliver rock tools products to customers
Use the Rock Tools Management System to monitor and report tool performance
Troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations and improvements to the Supervisor and Sandvik Sales and Service Representatives
Report occurrences indicating improper usage or selection by operators
Complete accurate time records, technical reports, and failure reports
Build relationships with the rock tools team and internal and external customers
Perform daily and weekly stock counts
Perform other relevant duties assigned by the Supervisor
Comply with environmental, health, and safety policies and requirements
Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses
Perform risk assessments before each task
Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation
Maintain an orderly work area and housekeeping standards
Attend Environmental, Health and Safety training
Requirements
Completion of Secondary School (High school)
Knowledge and/or experience with industry-specific equipment (mining or construction) would be an asset
Previous knowledge and/or experience with Sandvik products would be an asset
Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team
Detail-oriented
Good written and verbal communication skills
Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative
Ability to work with Outlook and Microsoft Office
Valid driver’s license in good standing
Ability and willingness to work varied shifts as required
No experience necessary
Ability to comply with safety policies and applicable regulations
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
