About the role
- CNC and manual machining operator producing aerospace components for Schaeffler Canada. Operating production equipment, inspecting work, troubleshooting processes, and maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate at least one production process using CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Perform problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work produced by the process or machine
- Routinely check machinery and perform basic maintenance and corrective action
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
- Accurately record data in routers, IMS, and other production tracking systems
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or set up machines for others to operate when required
- Read and interpret production prints
- Access production procedures using computer systems
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards
- Meet applicable training-matrix skill requirements and maintain Certified Operator Program certification
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Equivalent machining background or mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Ability to perform inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Ability to meet the skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix
- Maintain certification through company Certified Operator Program
- Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
- Must be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Temporary residents/international students require an exemption from the Canadian government to access export-controlled goods
- Ability to work as a full-time employee
