About the role
- External Grinding Operator producing aerospace components for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Operating CNC or manual equipment, inspecting precision work, and maintaining production quality.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate at least one production process using CNC or manually controlled equipment
- Perform problem solving and troubleshoot production/process issues to meet required standards
- Ensure the quality and quantity of work produced
- Monitor production processes according to the maintenance schedule
- Perform routine maintenance in a timely manner
- Inspect own work using precision measuring equipment
- Accurately record data in routers, IMS, and other production tracking systems
- Train other operators as needed
- Work in other departments or set up machines for other operators when required
- Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards in all areas
Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma
- Demonstrated competency as a Grinding Set Up Operator or equivalent machining background
- Ability to read and interpret production prints
- Adequate computer skills to access production procedures
- Ability to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
- Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Temporary residents/international students require Canadian government exemption for access to export-controlled goods
- Ability to perform precision measurement and inspect own work
- Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot production/process issues
