About the role

  • Finance Business Analyst delivering consolidated reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and tax analysis for Serefin’s multi-entity operations. Supporting strategic decisions, audits, compliance, and finance process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple Serefin entities, including consolidated reporting
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger analysis
  • Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year results
  • Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to management
  • Prepare and maintain annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range plans
  • Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for business initiatives and strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial insights
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls
  • Assist in evaluating business performance through KPIs and financial metrics
  • Prepare corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules for multiple legal entities
  • Support interim and annual external audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditor requests
  • Maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and process-improvement documentation
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance financial reporting and analysis
  • Participate in finance transformation and system-improvement initiatives
  • Support additional finance projects and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Accounting designation in progress (CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
  • 3-5 years of relevant accounting, financial analysis and reporting experience
  • Experience working with complex ownership structures
  • Independent preparation and filing of T2 corporate tax returns
  • SRED experience
  • Working knowledge of NetSuite, Expensify, and Payworks is an asset
  • M&A experience
  • International expansion experience is an asset
  • Advanced Excel skills, including building complex templates and formulas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work closely with senior management
  • Self-motivated and self-directed, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
