About the role
- Finance Business Analyst delivering consolidated reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and tax analysis for Serefin’s multi-entity operations. Supporting strategic decisions, audits, compliance, and finance process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple Serefin entities, including consolidated reporting
- Perform monthly account reconciliations, accruals, and general ledger analysis
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages with variance analysis against budget, forecast, and prior-year results
- Analyze financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations to management
- Prepare and maintain annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range plans
- Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and reports for business initiatives and strategic decisions
- Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial insights
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes, reporting, and internal controls
- Assist in evaluating business performance through KPIs and financial metrics
- Prepare corporate income tax returns and supporting schedules for multiple legal entities
- Support interim and annual external audits by preparing working papers and responding to auditor requests
- Maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and process-improvement documentation
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance financial reporting and analysis
- Participate in finance transformation and system-improvement initiatives
- Support additional finance projects and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Accounting designation in progress (CPA), or an equivalent combination of related experience and education
- 3-5 years of relevant accounting, financial analysis and reporting experience
- Experience working with complex ownership structures
- Independent preparation and filing of T2 corporate tax returns
- SRED experience
- Working knowledge of NetSuite, Expensify, and Payworks is an asset
- M&A experience
- International expansion experience is an asset
- Advanced Excel skills, including building complex templates and formulas
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work closely with senior management
- Self-motivated and self-directed, with ability to work independently and as part of a team
