About the role

  • Senior Technical Product Manager transforming Smile Digital Health’s FHIR-based healthcare data platform. Owning Spark/Databricks ingestion, MDM, Golden Patient Records, and data remediation roadmaps.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the product vision and roadmap to decouple core data ingestion modules from operational API boundaries into scalable standalone microservices
  • Productize event-driven and streaming ingestion pipelines using technologies such as Kafka and Spark Structured Streaming
  • Establish API contracts, event interfaces, and integration specifications for HL7 v2, C-CDA, FHIR JSON, and claims payloads
  • Define requirements for transitioning analytics pipelines to Databricks/Medallion Architecture using Apache Spark
  • Drive optimized Silver and Gold layer datasets using Delta Lake/Parquet columnar models
  • Balance real-time low-latency micro-batches with cost-optimized daily batch workloads
  • Own product requirements for the FHIR-native Master Data Management Engine
  • Define deterministic and probabilistic patient matching rules and survivorship logic for Golden Records
  • Design crosswalk management for source-to-target entity linkages
  • Build exception lifecycles from Dead-Letter Queues to structured error reporting
  • Define Data Steward interfaces and APIs for reviewing exceptions, merging/unmerging records, and correcting payloads
  • Architect idempotent replay mechanisms for corrected payloads

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Technical Product Management experience leading complex backend data platforms, distributed data engineering products, or big-data ingestion systems
  • Proven experience productizing solutions powered by Apache Spark and distributed data processing frameworks
  • Deep familiarity with Databricks/Lakehouse and Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold)
  • Experience with Delta Lake/Parquet performance patterns
  • Experience optimizing nested arrays and hierarchical data for OLAP query engines
  • Direct experience with Master Data Management, entity resolution, or identity matching tools
  • Experience with event-driven architectures, Dead-Letter Queues, and data replay/remediation workflows
  • Ability to write and execute SQL and Python to analyze datasets, validate engine output, and define logic rules
  • Nice to have: healthcare data standards including HL7 FHIR, C-CDA, or HL7 v2
  • Nice to have: healthcare terminologies including SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, and ICD-10
  • Nice to have: familiarity with SQL-on-FHIR analytics standards
