Senior DevOps Engineer operating secure AWS infrastructure and CI/CD for SOVRA’s public procurement platform. Improving reliability, observability, compliance, and AI-enabled operations.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient AWS infrastructure using EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, Terraform, and configuration management tooling.
Keep development, staging, and production environments consistent.
Design and manage secure, reliable, frequent-delivery CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
Participate in sprint ceremonies as a platform contributor alongside development and data engineering teams.
Evaluate AI-assisted deployment, SIEM, SOAR, and operational tooling, validating outputs and understanding risks and model limitations.
Implement cloud security across infrastructure, identity, networking, and deployment workflows.
Collaborate with security teams on vulnerability management, secrets management, OIDC authentication, compliance automation, audit readiness, and disaster recovery planning.
Develop and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance management capabilities.
Participate in incident management, root-cause analysis, post-incident reviews, and a 24/7 on-call rotation after onboarding.
Identify automation opportunities using scripting and AI tooling to reduce operational toil and increase deployment velocity.
Requirements
5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or SRE.
3+ years of hands-on AWS experience across EC2, VPC, IAM, Route 53, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch.
Proven experience building infrastructure with Terraform and configuration management tooling.
Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of GitHub Actions or a comparable CI/CD platform, including pipeline design, deployment automation, and integration with security and quality gates.
Working knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and OIDC federation.
Experience with enterprise observability platforms such as Datadog, ELK/OpenSearch, or equivalent.
Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or a comparable language.
Experience working with AI development or operations agents and evaluating their integration into infrastructure and AI enablement.

Willingness and ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation after onboarding.
Assets: exposure to SIEM or SOAR platforms; familiarity with AIOps or MLOps concepts and tooling such as MLflow, SageMaker, or Bedrock; SaaS or govtech environment experience.
