About the role

  • Building Damage Adjuster managing residential insurance claims for Square One Claims Inc. Treating customers with empathy while ensuring efficient claims processing.

Responsibilities

  • Working at Square One Claims, you are the main point of contact for customers who have suffered losses and filed claims.
  • Securing telephone statements and details of damages from customers.
  • Reviewing the claims process with customers and helping them submit required information.
  • Determining whether specific claims are covered and explaining why or why not.
  • Securing, evaluating and approving contractor quotations.
  • Assisting customers with completing schedules and repairing or replacing lost or damaged property.
  • Negotiating settlements, arranging payments and finalizing claims.
  • Maintaining your training and industry knowledge.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of building damage adjusting, including handling water damage claims in person (or 3 years desk building damage adjusting).
  • At least 1 year of tenure with a recent employer.
  • A high school diploma and, preferably, some post-secondary education.
  • A CIP or GIE designation, or working towards one of these.
  • A Level 1 or 2 adjusting license in AB or BC, or education and experience to qualify for one immediately
