About the role
- Technical Sales Associate supporting S&C Electric’s high-voltage protection products and electrical grid solutions. Assisting customers with quotations, applications, calculations, and protection projects.
Responsibilities
- Support quotation, order write-up, and application for S&C products under minimal supervision
- Serve as the main contact for customers
- Provide assistance to team members regarding product knowledge, production processes, departmental procedures, and processes
- Respond to internal clients by telephone, written communication, or in person
- Perform basic electrical and protection engineering calculations, including available fault current analysis and fuse curve coordination
- Learn and recommend protection for substation transformers, buses, and feeders
- Collaborate on high-voltage protection projects
- Learn and develop single-line diagrams for electrical utility and industrial customers’ high-voltage circuits
- Summarize transmission- and distribution-level system protection specifications and apply S&C protection devices
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a post-secondary degree in Electrical engineering
- Registered in an eligible co-op program
- Eligible to work 4 months starting in the Winter 2027 work term
- Knowledge of basic engineering concepts
- Basic understanding of electrical systems
- Ability to comprehend electric schematic drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Ability to perform normal or frequent minor physical effort, including lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20 lbs
