About the role
- Engineering co-op analyst updating medium-voltage switchgear specifications and proposals. Supporting S&C Electric’s power utility customers across Canada and the US.
Responsibilities
- Develop basic electrical and mechanical design knowledge of metal-enclosed switchgear
- Review power utility conditions of service documents for assigned territories to understand service entrance requirements
- Prepare summary specification documents for utilities and major customers
- Assist with reviewing and preparing proposal documents for medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear
- Job-shadow engineering team members in multiple departments to gain an overview of work process flow
- Perform additional duties to assist the engineering team as needed
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a registered post-secondary co-op program in Electrical Engineering
- Available for a 12 Month Co-op Work Term beginning in Winter 2027
- Knowledge of the basics of power system protection & control
- Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well within a team environment
- Aptitude for learning company-specific software
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and MS Project
- Ability to lift, move, or use objects or equipment up to 20lbs
