About the role

  • Personal Lines Advisor advising Canadian clients on property and automobile insurance. Managing policies, growing business, and improving personal-lines expertise at a tech-enabled brokerage.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on Property Insurance for homes, high-value, rental, and vacation properties
  • Advise clients on Automobile Insurance and ensure compliance and proper coverage
  • Assess client risks and negotiate with insurers for coverage, pricing, terms, endorsements, and exceptions
  • Quote and bind new business across multiple provinces
  • Process renewals and policy changes while identifying coverage improvements and cross-selling opportunities
  • Streamline workflows and enhance the client experience
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure regulatory compliance and timely client follow-ups
  • Monitor market trends, insurer products, rate filings, and industry updates
  • Manage and grow a personal lines book of business
  • Develop new business through prospecting, referrals, professional networks, and existing client relationships
  • Work with external partners and associations to optimize personal insurance programs
  • Act as the internal personal-lines subject-matter expert
  • Establish best practices, design training materials, and provide technical coaching, especially around cross-selling

Requirements

  • Level 2 insurance license required (CAIB 1, 2, 3)
  • RIBO license is an asset and required to obtain within 3 months of start date
  • 2+ years previous experience in personal lines insurance is an asset
  • Experience working with high-net-worth clients is an asset
  • HubSpot, Acturis, or similar system experience preferred
  • Personal auto experience is an asset
  • Ability to advise on Property Insurance across BC, AB, SK, MB, and ON
  • Ability to handle Automobile Insurance compliance and coverage in AB and ON
