About the role
- Cloud Analyst supporting Sun Life’s Cloud Centre of Excellence and secure cloud infrastructure. Automating, modernizing, and operating AWS, Azure, GCP, and container platforms.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a global Cloud Centre of Excellence delivering cloud solutions
- Support design, implementation, and operation of cloud infrastructure and platform services
- Collaborate with CCoE squads and stakeholders to execute projects with business and strategic alignment
- Support internal consumers adopting cloud services and self-service platform capabilities
- Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Work within an Agile team on platform enhancements and strategic initiatives
- Assist with modernizing legacy workloads and operational processes using cloud and container services
- Support proof-of-concept initiatives, technical evaluations, and implementations
- Troubleshoot issues, resolve incidents, and contribute to operational stability with support and engineering teams
- Apply security, privacy, compliance, audit, and risk best practices
- Participate in security engineering and compliance-by-design activities
- Create and maintain cloud service documentation, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Provide 24x7 support, including off-hours on-call availability for client-impacting changes or troubleshooting
Requirements
- University level degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Science, or a related technology field
- Relevant work experience in server administration and/or cloud solution administration in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of DevOps environments and automation
- Foundational technical and business understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience or academic exposure to software engineering, scripting, SDLC practices, or infrastructure as code
- Exposure to systems provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Backstage, or other cloud-native technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Teamwork experience, preferably with Scrum or KANBAN exposure
- AWS, Azure, GCP, or Linux Foundation certification is a plus
- Exposure to AWS EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, IAM, and EKS is an asset
- Understanding of container platforms and orchestration, with Amazon EKS and Kubernetes preferred
- Awareness of self-service platform concepts, developer enablement, and standardized cloud consumption models
- Knowledge of Python, React/TypeScript, NodeJS, or Bash
- Experience or exposure to AI tools such as GitHub Copilot and AWS Bedrock with Anthropic models
- Must satisfactorily complete applicable background checks before the start date and during employment
