Pipeline Technician supporting Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines operations in Alberta. Performing inspections and maintenance on natural gas compressor stations and pipeline sites.
Responsibilities
Support the Canadian Natural Gas Pipelines business
Perform inspections, troubleshooting and repair on equipment such as actuators, valves, stem seals, and other related components
Plan and lead pipeline isolation, blowdowns
Conduct pipeline purging, loading and bleed ins to pressurize pipelines
Provide support as necessary to the operation of transfer compressor for pipeline pull downs
Assist in gas leak surveys as reported by aerial patrols if requested by the area
Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new notifications, etc. in SAP
Operate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipment
Read and interpret alignment sheets and relevant facility drawings
Lead/manage the safe and efficient completion of low complexity projects
Provide coaching, mentoring and training to other personnel
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Journeyman certification in a trade or two years of post-secondary training
5 years relevant related industry experience
5-10 years relevant work experience related to Pipelines (preferred)
Experience with valve operation, inspection, maintenance and repair
Experience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilities
Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and/or SAP experience
Excellent work safety record and a safe work attitude
Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract (record) for review
Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings or training will be required (estimated up to 70% of work schedule)
Work extended hours (estimated up to 30% of work schedule)
Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
Be subject to working conditions which include adverse weather and temperatures
