About the role
- Graduate Applied Machine Learning Scientist rotating across TD's Analytics Insights & AI team. Applying machine learning to improve decisions and build production-scale banking solutions.
Responsibilities
- Participate in TD's 18-month rotational Associate Program with two nine-month rotations across Analytics Insights & AI
- Apply advanced machine learning methods to conduct data-driven research, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to senior management
- Collaborate with business partners to identify process optimization and informed decision-making opportunities
- Build innovative solutions using structured and unstructured data
- Prepare datasets for machine learning through integration, cleaning, feature engineering, scaling, and transformation
- Build production-scale solutions and work with deployment teams to integrate them into business operations
- Use visualization methods to represent results and communicate outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences
- Work on initiatives designed to improve decisions, processes, systems, and applications supporting TD's key businesses
- Receive coaching, mentorship, programming, tools, and support from business leaders and the Early Talent Experience team
Requirements
- Must have graduated between May 2025 and December 2026
- Required graduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field
- Strong statistical and analytical skills and a passion for analytics
- Experience analyzing large data sets, drawing insights and inferences, and communicating outputs
- Experience in one or more of Big Data, programming, data/text mining, optimization, algorithm development, automation, data visualization, or simulation
- Experience in one or more of predictive analytics, regression, logit modeling, model development, discrete choice, propensity modeling, natural language processing, or generative AI
- Experience in software engineering, including code quality, version control, or object-oriented programming
- Strong technical knowledge and experience with one or more of Python, R, Spark, SQL, SAS, Java, or C/C++
- Ability to participate as part of a team with targeted deliverables
- Strong leadership, communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and initiative skills
- Ability to remain current with emerging trends and technologies in data science
- Must reside in Canada
