About the role

  • Credit risk analyst reporting IFRS 9 allowance and provision results for TD, a major North American bank. Automating reporting, validating data, and supporting governance in Toronto.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and consolidate quarterly enterprise ACL execution results in accordance with IFRS 9
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of ACL/PCL reporting through reviews, reconciliations, and validation
  • Prepare and analyze management and regulatory ACL/PCL reports and automate outputs
  • Perform first-level investigations and escalate issues or gaps with supporting documentation
  • Design and maintain scalable workflows to streamline production and analysis
  • Support internal controls, governance, and audit-readiness activities
  • Apply self-review practices to verify output accuracy and reduce operational risk
  • Develop knowledge of IFRS 9 ACL methodologies, assumptions, and model outputs
  • Collaborate with Finance, Credit Risk, Data Management, and Model Development teams on end-to-end ACL processes
  • Support internal and external audits and regulatory reviews
  • Provide support to Canadian Commercial and Wholesale Allowance teams as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in credit risk, finance, or accounting roles, preferably within a financial institution
  • Knowledge or experience with IFRS 9 ACL processes preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive requests and ad-hoc inquiries
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Critical thinking and ability to challenge assumptions
  • Exceptional attention to detail and focus on accuracy and quality
  • Ability to apply a strong control mindset, perform quality checks, identify control gaps, and support enhancements
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data mapping, data preparation, and automation
  • Experience with Python, SQL/database querying, Power BI, and AI-assisted development and analytics tools considered an asset
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to continuous process improvement
