About the role

  • Engineer II automating application, platform, and infrastructure releases for TD Securities. Applying engineering expertise to improve technology tools, processes, and platform domains.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage deep technology expertise to deliver tools, processes, and documentation across technology areas
  • Execute engineering strategy for automating build, test, release, and configuration activities across applications, platforms, and infrastructure
  • Partner with Operations to integrate tools and processes into automated and self-service releases
  • Identify and leverage synergies across Technology and business areas
  • Act as expert or lead innovator and agent of change for managed programs and services
  • Implement engineering and management best practices with other teams
  • Collaborate with vendor platform providers and engineering peers on trends, products, frameworks, and applications
  • Manage stakeholder engagement and enterprise impacts
  • Interpret client needs, assess engineering requirements, and identify solutions to non-standard requests
  • Apply best practices to improve products or services
  • Monitor and control costs
  • Provide subject matter expertise on engineering technology, tools, and risk issues to governance and control groups
  • Develop or contribute to third-party contract and agreement negotiations
  • Identify emerging technologies and innovative solutions for robust platform domains
  • Enhance technical knowledge and stay current with industry trends and best practices
  • Prioritize workload and support team members in achieving business objectives and providing client services
  • Recommend opportunities to improve productivity, effectiveness, and operational efficiency
  • Participate in knowledge transfer with senior management, technical areas, and business units

Requirements

  • University or post-graduate degree
  • Strong academic background, such as computer science or engineering
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Expert knowledge of specific engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes, and procedures
  • Expert knowledge of TD applications, systems, networks, innovation, design activities, best practices, business/organization, and Bank standards
  • Expert knowledge and experience in own discipline
  • In-depth understanding of relevant business needs
  • Knowledge of external development, engineering, emerging solutions, and market conditions
  • Ability to interpret client needs and assess engineering-related requirements
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload to deliver quality results and meet timelines
