About the role

  • Manager of Actuarial at TD Insurance focusing on liability valuation and strategic planning. Collaborating with various teams to improve actuarial processes and lead projects.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting various teams by investigating new actuarial techniques
  • Developing new tools and testing new features
  • Periodically reviewing current processes and enhancing them
  • Participating in profitability analyses
  • Collaborating with stakeholders in Finance, Pricing, Reinsurance, Claims Operations and Analytics & Modelling
  • Enhancing processes to maximize efficiency
  • Developing execution plans and managing stakeholder deliverables
  • Coaching and inspiring colleagues

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial science, or other quantitative area of study
  • Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society or pursuing title with the Casualty Actuarial Society, Canadian Institute of Actuaries or equivalent
  • Minimum 8 years of diversified actuarial experience in a general insurance company
  • Management experience and ability to develop, coach and inspire a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to proactively identify risks/issues and recommend solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Advanced knowledge in programming languages (e.g., R, Python, SQL, VBA or other)
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and automation concepts
