About the role

  • Bodily Injury Claims Analyst responsible for handling liability and quantum claims nationally at TD Insurance. Negotiating and resolving claims effectively while ensuring compliance with protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to Team Leader, Claims Services; the Bodily Injury Analyst is responsible for the handling of bodily injury tort claims nationally
  • Full investigation of liability and quantum as well as negotiation and resolution of claims effectively and timely manner
  • Available to travel and attend mediations, pre-trials and trials as required
  • Deal with non-represented claimants as well as plaintiff and Defence Counsel on a regular basis
  • Investigates claims regarding liability, injuries and other accident related damages promptly and thoroughly
  • Establish and maintain adequate case reserves by adhering to the BI reserving protocol and practices
  • Comply with all established protocols regarding identification, notification and reporting to Major Claims
  • Collects and documents claims related information in a clear and concise manner
  • Establish and maintain proactive and sound file handling by adhering to established guidelines
  • Manage both potential indemnity and expense to ensure sound cost management principles and practices
  • Exercise sound judgment in the evaluation and resolution of complex claims
  • Make prompt contact with all unrepresented claimants or their respective legal counsel
  • Manages expectations of claimants throughout the claims process by maintaining regular follow up contact
  • Build trust and business relationships with Plaintiff Counsel to resolve claims files in a timely manner
  • Proactive management and collaboration with Defence Counsel
  • Complete all required reports and all notepad entries in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of Insurance adjusting experience
  • Sound knowledge / experience with the current Rules of Civil Procedure
  • Strong understanding of the insurance industry and the related legal environment
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Effective analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt effectively to a changing environment
  • Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision
  • Preference given to those whom have or are actively pursuing their CIP designation and or other relevant continuing education
  • University or college degree preferred
