Responsibilities
Develop and implement team procedures and governance processes for sanctions compliance
Analyze and advise stakeholders on changes and enhancements to enterprise sanctions programs and requirements
Collaborate with Compliance, Legal, Risk, and other partners on regulatory and internal sanctions documentation and reports
Lead research and assessment of sanctions risks and controls
Manage sanctions policy and training exemption governance and reporting to senior leadership and committees
Guide use of issues and events systems for sanctions-related tracking and reporting
Prepare summaries, presentations, briefing notes, and program-status documentation
Provide sanctions subject matter expertise and compliance advice to business partners
Develop and deliver sanctions training programs
Analyze sanctions program activities and assess enterprise program effectiveness
Support sanctions risk assessment research, analysis, tools, and training
Develop processes, procedures, and guidance for sanctions compliance
Manage workload to meet service-level and productivity requirements
Identify and manage risks and resolve escalated high-risk issues
Participate in product initiatives and FCRM projects
Monitor industry developments and evolving regulatory requirements
Support audits, regulatory reviews, examinations, and BSA/FCRM compliance assessments
Coach and educate others on sanctions regulations and best practices
Perform end-to-end sanctions screening and escalation processes
Investigate sanctions alerts, operational issues, and process gaps
Recommend and implement sanctions controls and governance improvements
Coordinate with AML, FCRM, Legal, and other areas for holistic risk management
Produce specialized reporting on sanctions metrics, trends, and regulatory adherence
Represent the group on sanctions projects, regulatory initiatives, and cross-border governance meetings
Requirements
Undergraduate Degree
Advanced degree, professional accreditation, and/or 5+ years relevant industry experience
Advanced technical and regulatory knowledge of global sanctions regimes
Advanced knowledge of sanctions screening systems
Expertise in sanctions compliance, business operations, products, services, and operating standards
Experience researching sanctions alerts, operational issues, and process gaps
Ability to perform high-risk reviews and regulatory reporting
Ability to manage complex operational, reporting, and process analysis functions
Ability to coordinate with AML, FCRM, Legal, Compliance, and Risk partners
Ability to provide specialized sanctions metrics, trends, and regulatory adherence reporting
Ability to work independently as a senior analyst and subject matter expert
Ability to coach and educate others on regulatory requirements and best practices
