About the role
- Software Engineer I developing and supporting full-stack onboarding and compliance capabilities for TD’s banking platform. Troubleshooting defects and delivering Java, Angular, and database solutions in a hybrid Toronto pod.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engineering work within the pod scope, including fixes, enhancements, and technical improvements
- Participate in daily huddles and technical calls to coordinate work, manage blockers, and communicate progress
- Perform triage and root cause analysis for issues and defects
- Implement corrective changes and support validation through testing and controlled releases
- Collaborate with other OBNC pods and stakeholders to align dependencies, sequencing, and handoffs
- Maintain code reviews, documentation, operational readiness, and transparent tracking in Jira epics and stories
- Contribute to transition and continuity activities as work moves between pods
- Operate in a scaled agile manner and participate in backlog refinement sessions
- Develop and implement feature-based solutions
- Perform full-stack coding, solution design, analysis, and documentation
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues
Requirements
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, RESTful APIs, Java 11 and above, Angular 9 and above, PL/SQL, and Python
- Experience with MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or Redis
- 3 years of experience with MQ/Kafka
- Experience with Maven, Confluence, Jira, and GitHub
- Good knowledge of Spring-related frameworks and Java 11 and above
- Ability to work independently under minimal guidance
- Subject matter expertise and ability to share knowledge with less experienced colleagues
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Cloud knowledge, preferably Azure (nice-to-have)
- AI capabilities, including Copilot (nice-to-have)
- Previous banking domain experience (nice-to-have)
