About the role
- Senior SQL Developer building SQL warehouses, ETL pipelines, and reporting solutions for TD Bank’s treasury technology team. Supporting cloud modernization and business-critical financial analytics.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support scalable database solutions, reporting data models, and data pipelines for business-critical reporting and analytics
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and ETL processes
- Perform data modeling, database design, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in large-scale enterprise data environments
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to deliver reporting, data integration, and analytics solutions
- Support production investigations, root cause analysis, and ongoing platform enhancements
- Contribute to modernization initiatives involving big data technologies, cloud platforms, automation, and DevOps practices
- Apply software engineering best practices including source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development tools
- Support and evolve the Treasury and Balance Sheet Management reporting and data platform
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, database engineering, data engineering, or related technical disciplines
- Strong hands-on Microsoft SQL Server development experience, including complex SQL development, stored procedures, functions, and database programming
- Experience designing and maintaining scalable data models and enterprise data warehouse solutions
- Expertise in query optimization, performance tuning, indexing strategies, and database performance troubleshooting
- Experience building and supporting ETL, data integration, or data engineering solutions
- Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, Spark SQL, or other big data technologies
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and automated testing frameworks
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot
- Preferred: Java and Spring Boot development experience
- Preferred: .NET / C# development experience
- Preferred: Azure Databricks experience
- Preferred: Python development experience
- Preferred: Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI
- Preferred: Experience with cloud data platforms and modernization programs
- Preferred: Financial services, treasury, risk management, or regulatory reporting experience
