About the role

  • Credit Analyst II structuring and underwriting portfolio credit for TD, a major North American bank. Assessing risk, preparing credit packages, and supporting relationship managers.

Responsibilities

  • Structure credit for assigned portfolios by assessing customer creditworthiness and risk
  • Underwrite new credit requests and complete annual credit reviews
  • Coordinate or manage draw requests and monitor and control credit facilities
  • Support the Relationship Manager by preparing competitive credit packages
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and improve the customer experience
  • Lead analysis for assigned portfolios
  • Use the sales platform to understand customer and target needs, industries, and markets
  • Build knowledge of markets, customers, and broader economic factors
  • Identify business-environment changes and establish action plans for customer issues and priorities
  • Assist with cross-selling products to existing and new customers based on customer risk profiles
  • Refer customers to other business partners and respond to reciprocal referrals
  • Promote products, sales, services, and banking capabilities
  • Participate in process improvement and Operational Excellence initiatives
  • Manage relationships across business lines, corporate functions, and control functions
  • Ensure due diligence and transaction accuracy
  • Participate fully as a team member and support a positive, equitable work environment
  • Provide thought leadership and transfer knowledge within the team and business unit
  • Participate in performance management, development, and cross-training
  • Mentor others and share knowledge and best practices
  • Report generally to the Senior Manager, Credit Management

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and/or 5+ years of relevant experience and/or Associate Program
  • Knowledge and expertise in credit management and credit risk assessment
  • Ability to underwrite new credit requests and complete annual credit reviews
  • Ability to assess credit risk in compliance with internal and external requirements
  • Ability to interpret guidelines, standards, policies, and analysis results
  • Ability to structure credit requests and solve complex problems
  • Ability to manage risks and escalate non-standard, high-risk transactions or activities
  • Ability to complete business processes, procedures, monitoring, and control activities accurately and on time
  • Ability to keep current on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work under moderate guidance and supervision
