About the role

Medical Underwriter performing health risk assessments for TD Insurance. Communicating decisions and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines while gathering risk information.

Responsibilities

Appropriate medical underwriting assessment and decisions for each risk according to the limits of the plan
Gathering insurance risk information by written supplementary health questionnaires or phone conversations with customers
Provide support to the claims department and handling claim referrals
Communicate underwriting decisions and detailed explanations of adverse handlings to clients
Ensure applications are underwritten and processed according to TD’s underwriting guidelines

English and French language skills (Verbal, Written and Reading)
Minimum of 5 years medical underwriting and insurance experience or a degree/diploma in health sciences
